Also known as Iris Barbata. The large bulbs produce bright green leaves and sturdy stems carrying wonderfully shaped flowers in the most delightful colours. There are still gardeners who think that Iris Germanica like to grow in wet soil, but in fact, they are very happy in normal garden soils. Irises are very popular both in the garden and as a cut flowers because they are so strong and hardy. |
