The flowers consist of many petals arranged in a whorl around the centre. If you do not space the bulbs too far apart, the opened flowers will touch and will make the most spectacular display, a perfect carpet of spring flowers. A great idea is to plant groups of these tulips in patio planters and window-boxes.
