Mare's Tail - Oxygen Plants - Plant
The aquatic plant, Mare's Tail, is best used in a pond basket. Cover the basket with jute and fill the pond with special soil. Plant Mare's Tail in the basket, fill with soil and add a growth ball. Cover everything with the remaining jute and sprinkle with a layer of gravel. Place the basket just below the surface or up to 10-40 cm deep in the pond; a depth of 70 is even possible. If your pond is not too shallow, you can place your basket within a pile of stones. This plant can also grow in a large tub with water. Place this plant in complete or partial sunshine. The best time to plant is between May and June.

Mare's Tail is a strong aquatic plant that grows well almost anywhere. Cut off its dead leaves in autumn and remove it from the pond. Yearly, in the spring you can add a growth ball to the pond basket. If the clump grows too large by May, you can take it out of the pond. If the clump grows too large by May, you can take Mare's Tail out of the pond. Divide the clump into smaller pieces and plant only one piece back inside the pond.
