When you receive your Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe', place in a bucket full of lukewarm water overnight. These rose bushes grow best when planted in the ground. Prepare a large hole and fill with good quality soil mixed with granulated cow manure. Spread the roots of the roses out and plant them at the appropriate depth. The base of the stem should be about 5 cm below the soil surface, as they are sensitive to frost. If the soil and roots are dry, a bucket of water should be gently emptied into the planting hole. Fill the hole with the soil and continuously press with your foot. Plant in a sunny position so that it experiences a rich bloom.

Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe' makes an excellent combination plant

Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe' has large striped flowers. They appear from June until the first night frost. These Hybrid Tea Roses would make some real highlights in your garden and looks beautiful when combined with the buxus hedge. You can even plant lower growing plants around the base of the rosebush such as Lamium Maculatum 'Beacon Silver', or plant a group of lavender roses next to them. In the autumn you can also plant some tulips between the bushes to give continuous interest through most of the year.

Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe' is a Hybrid Tea Rose with large, noble, slightly fragrant flowers. The majestic striped flowers have a beautiful hue. This bush is very strong and healthy, has a bush-like growth and produces lots of flowers.

To encourage new growth deadhead the faded flowers, right up to the first five leaflet leaf. It requires plenty of food in order to experience a rich bloom. Provide it with manure regularly; in the winter, place some granulated cow manure around its base. Give it a mixed organic fertilizer early in the spring and special rose manure in July to allow for a great bloom and growth. To protect its fragile roots during the winter, we recommend to make a small mound around its base.

Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe' needs to be pruned

Large-flowered Rose 'Candy Stripe' should be pruned every spring. Prune in March leaving only about five of the strongest branches. Prune all branches until there are 3-5 eyes left (these are dormant buds that are difficult to detect). Always cut at an angle so that rain water can drip off. Also remove any unwanted suckers from the roots and any growth that is either dead or diseased. The roses that you'll receive from us have already been pruned, so they only need to be pruned the following year.
