The Indian Bean Tree grows best planted in open ground. Make sure the root ball is well-moistened by soaking it in a bucket of lukewarm water before planting. Prepare a suitable hole in good, fertile garden soil. Loosen the soil with a fork and improve poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and granulated cow manure granules. Plant the root ball of the Indian Bean Tree at the correct depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Plant the root ball next to a sturdy tree pole and place a tree strap around the pole and trunk. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Provide plenty of water immediately after planting. Plant your tree in an area with complete sunshine.  .

The Indian Bean Tree has the largest leaves of all trees growing in our climate. Its heart-shaped leaves are bright green to yellow and can grow up to 20 cm wide. In addition, it has lovely white flowers in the summer. The petals are beautifully speckled on the inside, just like a small orchid. If you prune it a lot, it can be kept as a bush.

The Indian Bean Tree is a strong tree that requires minimal maintenance. Provide it with extra water during dry periods since this tree hates dry soil. Pruning is well tolerated as long as it is not freezing. Through November to February, if its branches are too long, you can prune them along with any unwanted branches (except during frost periods). They can take some time to establish and may not always leaf immediately, it may be late June before you see any sign of a shoot emerging.
