Chinese Fringe Bush (Loropetalum Chinense 'Black Pearl') is an exceptional shrub which resembles a witchhazel. The flowers develop as soon as the winter chill subsides, and this early flowering brings life to the still bare spring garden. The Chinese Fringe Bush 'Black Pearl' grows well in the ground, and also in a large flower pot or planter. Make sure that the root ball is well-moistened by soaking it in a bucket of lukewarm water before planting. Prepare a suitable hole in nutritious soil. Improve poor garden soil by adding some compost. Plant the Chinese Fringe Bush at the appropriate depth, the top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. You can also plant it in a planter using nutritious potting soil. Place 'Black Pearl' in a sheltered area with complete sunshine or partial shade.

The original Chinese Fringe bush grows on mountain slopes in China. This early flowering bush Loropetalum chinense 'Black Pearl' is ideal for brightening up the spring garden. Its unique bright pink flowers stand out beautifully against the dark leaves. The blooms continue well into the summer, giving off light floral scents. Even after flowering, this large shrub's dark leaves remain gorgeous throughout the whole year.
