Sprinkling the Lawn
If the grass is cut very short and the soil is dry (sandy), the lawn should be sprinkled briefly each day, otherwise the grass will turn brown - and once the grass is brown it is too late to take action.
The best time to sprinkle the lawn is early afternoon. This gives the grass a chance to dry properly.
A lawn that is used for playing should not be cut too short and therefore needs less frequent sprinkling. Once every two days should be enough.
